Pulling Something Borrowed

What is this task?

Moving Something Borrowed items from the Something Borrowed Closet to be set in the Main Hall.

Why does this task matter?

The shelves will become unorganized.

The Catering Hall/Main Hall/storage room will become too cluttered if too many items are brought down.

Items may break.

Before event day, Event day – setup

Reception crew

What do you need to do the task?

Empty totes/containers.

A list describing the item, its ID number, and the amount of each item needed.

Step-By-Step

1. As you enter the closet, locate an empty tote/container.

2. Locate the requested item(s) on the shelf. Use the Something Borrowed website to ensure you are pulling the correct item. Link to Something Borrowed website: https://www.littlelightsonthelane.com/something-borrowed

3. Take only the requested amount of each item and place it in the new, empty tote/container.

4. Repeat for the remaining items.

5. Bring the tote/container filled with Something Borrowed items down to the Main Hall to be placed according to the Mood Board layout.

6. Once the items are placed, return the empty tote/container back up to the Something Borrowed Closet.

What does “done right” look like?

Only the required amount of items are brought down in a new tote/container, leaving the remaining amount in their original totes/containers on the shelf.

Common problems or mistakes?

Do not bring the requested items down in their original tote/container. Place only the amount needed of each item into a new, empty tote/container to be brought to the Main Hall.

Do not overfill the totes/containers. Most items are glass or ceramic and can break easily.

Know your own strengths- do not take more than you can carry. Some items are heavy and awkward to carry. Keep in mind you have to carry them down the stairs.
